We might collect personal information relevant to your policy or claim, such as your contact details, bank details for payment or identification documents. The information we collect depends on which products or services we provide to you or think you may be interested in; for example; if you are interested in obtaining motor or travel insurance, we’ll collect information about the car you drive or where you’re planning to travel to. Please note, in certain circumstances we may request and/or receive “sensitive” personal information about you. For example, we may need access to some of your health records for the purposes of providing you with a policy or processing claims. The information that we collect will depend on our relationship with you. If we need information about other people than the policyholder, we may ask you to provide the information below in relation to those people too, if this is relevant to your insurance/claim. Please ensure such individuals are aware that we will use their details for the purposes of the relevant insurance policy or services and direct them to this privacy policy for more information. If you do not provide us with the requested information, then we may not be able to offer you the applicable insurance policy or services. 

We may collect the following about you: 

Personal information  

  • Identity data such as title, name, nationality and date of birth 
  • Contact information such as email address, postal address and telephone numbers including any telephone number collected by our telephone system when you call us 
  • Details of any other persons included on the policy where they are named on your policy and the relationship to you as policyholder 
  • External identification information such as your national insurance number, social security number, passport and driving licence 
  • Internal identification numbers such as policy, claim or case number 
  • Financial information such payment amounts and debts 
  • Banking information like account number and sort code for payments 
  • Card payment details 
  • Where applicable, details of any vulnerabilities in customers’ personal circumstances identified and the support needed/offered 
  • Information relevant to your insurance policy such as details about your level of cover, vehicle, property, boiler, previous policies or claims, recent damage 
  • Location data such as travel destination or incident location 
  • Any other relevant incident information relating to an event or incident linked to a claim, including personal data of other persons

  • Your marketing preferences 
  • Your feedback and survey responses 
  • Username and password for an online account 
  • Device information collected from your device(s) including IP address, device information (e.g. device type, operating system) and browser 
  • Meta data related to how you contact us, via email, online or telephone 

Sensitive personal information 

  • Details of your current or former physical or mental health  
  • Details of your past or present medical condition(s), including medical histories and reports 
  • Details of any temporary or permanent physical or mental impairment or disability that may impact your claim or assistance needs 
  • Details of your religious belief where this directly impacts your claim or assistance needs (primarily travel insurance related) 

Children's data

We do not intentionally offer insurance policies or services or collect any personal information from children under 18 years of age. We shall seek to cancel a policy or service contract, refund the premium or payment and delete the details of such individuals when a parent or guardian notifies us that any personal details have been obtained from their child in this context. 

However, some information about children may be collected and used in connection with a policy claim or provision of a service, for example where relevant to the circumstances of the claim or service provision and any associated vulnerabilities. In this scenario, we rely on the relevant parent or guardian to ensure they have the appropriate consent of the child prior to sharing personal data with us.
